A 30-year-old man identified as Olamide Akinolu has been confirmed dead after he was beaten by unidentified individuals at the Osas Hotel in the Wadoye community of Ifo LGA, Ogun State.

DAILY POST gathered that Akinolu had reportedly gone to the hotel to meet a man whom he had paid N50,000 to rent musical instruments when he was allegedly attacked by some suspects.

The incident happened at about 12:40 pm on Tuesday.

Confirming the development on Wednesday, the Police spokesperson in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the incident was reported to the Ajuwon division of the Command by the victim’s father.

Odutola noted that the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

She said, “He sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead.

“This prompted a group of people to organise an attack on the hotel.

“The hotel manager was injured, and several instruments were damaged during the violence. Our officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order.

“Meanwhile, the body has been taken to a mortuary in Olambe for examination and autopsy.”

She maintained that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the act.
