Ogun State government has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding a purported partnership with Niger State on food security.
The viral post alleged collaboration between the two states, but Ogun State officials clarified that no such discussions ever took place.
According to Ogun State representatives, while they are open to partnerships for mutual benefit, any formal engagement requires official documentation and clear articulation, unlike the informal chat that occurred between the two governors.
Ogun State boasts significant potential for agricultural development and food security, with vast arable land exceeding 16,000 square kilometers, the largest in the South West region.
The state is recognized for its leadership in agricultural production, particularly in cassava and poultry products.
Agricultural development remains a priority for the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, reflected in the state’s robust policies and initiatives. Other states have even sought policy direction from Ogun State in this regard.
