The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of all Chairmanship and Councillorship seats in the local government election held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
According to OGSIEC, the APC emerged victorious across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, securing all the available Chairmanship positions. Similarly, the party won all 236 Councillorship seats across the wards, making a clean sweep in the highly anticipated polls.
The election, which was conducted peacefully across the state, witnessed significant voter turnout despite initial concerns about voter apathy. This landslide victory further cements APC’s strong political presence in Ogun State ahead of future elections.
In his remarks, the OGSIEC Chairman praised the electorate for their orderly conduct during the polls and commended security agencies for ensuring a hitch-free election process.
