The APC Youth League recently paid a visit to Senator Dr. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, to celebrate his 71st birthday at his residence in Makurdi.
The visit was led by the National President, Comrade Olamide Lawal, which was a testament to the high esteem in which Senator Akume is held by the youth wing of the party.
As a seasoned politician, Senator Akume has had a distinguished career, serving as Governor of Benue State from 1999 to 2007, Senator representing Benue North-West from 2007 to 2019, and Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs from 2019 to 2023. His leadership and mentorship have inspired many young people, and the APC Youth League was honored to celebrate this milestone birthday with him.
The visit was described as a “great privilege” by the APC Youth League, who praised Senator Akume as a “remarkable mentor of great leaders.” The League’s gesture was a clear indication of their admiration for his dedication to public service and his commitment to inspiring future generations of leaders.
As Senator Akume marks this significant birthday, the APC Youth League and indeed all Nigerians wish him many more years of good health, wisdom, and continued service to the nation.
