The National President of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League, Comrade Olamide Lawal, has urged Nigerians, especially youths, to support President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s tax reform policy. He described the initiative as a pivotal step in revitalizing the nation’s economy.
Lawal made this appeal during the inauguration ceremony of Local Government Coordinators for the Imo State Chapter of the APC Youth League, held in Owerri, the state capital.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Comrade Lawal highlighted that the federal government’s economic reforms and policies aim to enhance the lives of Nigerians. He stressed that achieving success requires collective understanding and widespread support.
“The federal government’s economic policies are focused on improving the quality of life for Nigerians and deserve our support if we genuinely care about the country,” he stated.
According to Lawal, “The tax reform policy, presented to the National Assembly by President Tinubu earlier this year, has received commendation from economists and financial experts.”
He further explained, “The policy prioritizes transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the country’s tax administration. It also aims to reduce the number of taxes paid by citizens, thereby easing their financial burden.”
Lawal reiterated that the federal government has good intentions for the populace and emphasized that success could only be achieved with the necessary support from Nigerians.
At the event, Imo State Commissioner for Youth, Mr. Emeka Mandela, advised the newly inaugurated coordinators to exhibit exemplary conduct to enhance the APC’s reputation.
“I expect the coordinators to serve as positive role models for Imo youths and to elevate the image of the party,” Mandela noted.
Promise Okolie, Coordinator of the APC Youth League, Imo State Chapter, reaffirmed the league’s dedication to grassroots development. He assured that the newly empowered leaders would work diligently for the progress of the party, the state, and the country at large.
