Paul Akintelure, a prominent governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has sadly passed away.
His untimely demise comes amid concerns he raised about threats to his life, both direct and indirect.
Despite expressing hope for improvement, the situation worsened as the APC governorship primary election approached, scheduled for April 25.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Oladapo Akintelure, Paul Akintelure lamented the escalating threats, reaffirming his commitment to stand for what is just and right, undeterred by fear.
Akintelure’s political journey included running as the deputy governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) alongside Rotimi Akeredolu, the incumbent Ondo State governor.
He previously contested in senatorial elections and hailed from Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.
This news casts a shadow over the ongoing build-up to the Ondo governorship election, adding a somber note to the political landscape.
