Popular Nigerian nightlife figure, Cubana Chief Priest, has been granted N10 million bail following allegations of Naira misuse by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC is prosecuting him for purportedly spraying and handling the Naira at events held at Eko Hotel on February 13th, 2024, a Lagos event in January 2024, and another event in 2020. He was arraigned before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court, Lagos, today, April 17th, 2024.
Businessman Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, pleaded not guilty to the charges of Naira abuse brought against him by the EFCC.
During his court appearance, Cubana’s lawyer, Chukosolo Ojukwu, contested the charges and applied for bail. Subsequently, Cubana Chief Priest was granted bail in the sum of N10 million after pleading not guilty and submitting a bail application.
At the time of writing, Cubana Chief Priest has been released by the EFCC pending further proceedings.
