The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 15 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in a series of coordinated operations in Port Harcourt and Abuja.
In Port Harcourt, operatives from the Port Harcourt Zonal Command apprehended 11 suspects in the Whimpey, Ada George area of Rivers State. Acting on credible intelligence and several days of surveillance, the EFCC carried out a sting operation that resulted in the confiscation of four cars, numerous mobile phones, and laptop computers containing fraudulent documents.
Meanwhile, in Abuja, EFCC operatives conducted a separate sting operation in the Kubwa axis of the Federal Capital Territory, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects. The EFCC recovered several brands of mobile phones from these suspects. According to the EFCC, these individuals will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
