The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended thirty-six (36) individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The operation, carried out by the Ibadan Zonal Command of the EFCC, unfolded on Monday, February 26, 2024, targeting locations in Gbokoniyin and Yetedo areas of Abeokuta. The arrests came as a result of actionable intelligence meticulously gathered and acted upon by the Commission.

Among the seized items were nine luxury vehicles, fourteen (14) laptops, forty-nine (49) mobile phones, and various incriminating documents, further implicating the suspects in illicit activities.

As investigations continue, the apprehended individuals are set to face legal proceedings, with charges to be brought against them in due course.
