Cubana Chief Priest Faces Charges of Naira Abuse, Heads to Court
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has leveled a three-count charge against nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest, born Pascal Okechukwu, for alleged abuse of the Nigerian currency.
Cubana stands accused of spraying and tampering with the naira at a social event, contravening the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
The counts against the Instagram celebrity allege his involvement in tampering with funds in the denomination of N500 issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria during various social events.
Cubana is scheduled to appear before Judge Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 17.
Known for his opulent lifestyle, Cubana previously served as the general manager of Cubana Groups before establishing Club Xhrine in Owerri, Imo State, in September 2020.
