The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as Public Holidays to commemorate the Islamic festival, Eid-al-Fitr.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, representing the Federal Government, extended congratulations to the Muslim community for the successful conclusion of the fasting period during the holy month.
Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, revealed this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. She conveyed the minister’s call for Muslims to embrace and embody the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and compassion, as demonstrated by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The minister urged Nigerians to uphold unity to enhance peace and harmony in the country. “The Minister extends warm wishes to all Muslims for a joyous Eid-al-Fitr celebration, praying for Allah’s peace, blessings, and favor upon everyone and our beloved Nation,” the statement concluded.
