Emirates to Resume Daily Flights to Nigeria, Enhancing Connectivity and Trade Opportunities on October 1, 2024

Emirates will restart its services to Nigeria on 1 October 2024, with a daily flight connecting Lagos and Dubai, enhancing options and connectivity from Nigeria’s largest city to Dubai and beyond.

The route will be flown using a Boeing 777-300ER. EK783 will depart Dubai at 0945hrs, landing in Lagos at 1520hrs; the return flight EK784 will depart Lagos at 1730hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0510hrs the next day. Tickets are now available for booking on emirates.com or through travel agents.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “We are thrilled to resume our Nigeria services. The Lagos-Dubai route has been favored by our Nigerian customers, and we aim to reconnect leisure and business travelers to Dubai and our network of over 140 destinations.

We appreciate the Nigerian government’s support in re-establishing this route and look forward to welcoming back our passengers.”

With Nigeria back in its network, Emirates serves 19 destinations in Africa with 157 weekly flights from Dubai, extending reach to 130 more regional points in Africa through partnerships with South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, and Tunis Air.

Nigeria, a key economic hub in Africa, has strong trade ties with the UAE, with Lagos as its commercial center. Resuming daily passenger flights will also enhance trade, with Emirates SkyCargo providing over 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity in and out of Lagos each week.

Emirates SkyCargo will support Nigerian businesses by exporting goods through its hub in Dubai to markets such as the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain, focusing on commodities like Kola Nuts, food, beverages, and urgent courier items.

The airline will also import essential goods like pharmaceuticals and electronics from markets such as the UAE, India, and Hong Kong, ensuring efficient and reliable trade.

The Emirates Boeing 777-300ER flying to Lagos features 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats. Passengers can enjoy multi-course meals inspired by regional cuisines and a wide range of premium beverages.

Customers can also access over 6,500 channels of global entertainment, including 23 Nigerian films, series, and more on ice, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system.
