President Tinubu stated this on Monday in Abuja, during the celebration of this year’s children’s day themed “Enhancing the total wellbeing of the Nigerian Child through Quality Education and Skills Development.”

He mentioned that the administration has initiated key transformative policies to foster a conducive learning environment across the nation.

Tinubu, represented by the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to the overall well-being and development of Nigerian children.

He highlighted the Federal government’s establishment of the National Education Data System, approval of skill development for all educational levels, and digital skills training for teachers.

He stated: “The government is dedicated to creating 24 skills and innovation hubs and Entrepreneurship Centres nationwide.

“Additionally, the FG plans to launch private sector Innovation Enterprise Centres nationwide to support the government’s skills acquisition program.

“The government is also constructing 91 Vocational Centres in secondary schools nationwide to ensure all educational levels benefit from our policy.

“We are collaborating with State Commissioners of Women Affairs, State Ministries of Education, State Universal Basic Education Boards, and Civil Society Organizations to ensure quality education and skills development for Nigerian children.”

Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, assured the children that their rights would be safeguarded.

Kennedy-Ohanenye said: “When it comes to defending your rights, I will always be there for you because Mr. President has promised that the poor shall thrive, and children are among the vulnerable.”

Mrs. Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi, Mandate Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, FCT Administration, explained that the FCT, under Nyesom Wike, is working to ensure that every child in the FCT has access to quality education and skills development for their success in life.
