The Ogun State government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun CON and through the Ministry Agriculture and Food Security, headed by Honorable Commissioner Bolu Owotomo, has taken a significant step towards youth empowerment and food security.
Recently, The Ogun State Youth Ambassadors, who were trained at the Enterprise Youth in Agriculture (EYIA) program facilitated by Soilless Farm Lab, have been allocated farmlands and provided with a grant of N2,500,000 each to kick start their farm enterprises.
The training occurred in Abeokuta, the state capital, underscoring the government’s commitment to utilizing local resources and expertise.
This initiative is designed to provide employment opportunities for the youth and address the critical issue of food security in the state.
By equipping young individuals with the necessary skills and resources, the government aims to foster a new generation of agricultural entrepreneurs who will contribute to the state’s economic growth and sustainability.
One of the beneficiaries, Segun Odunaya (@ibrozie00), took to Twitter to thank the government, saying, “A promise made, a promise kept. Thank you, His Excellency @DapoAbiodunCON, and the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture Mr. Bolu Owotomo, for empowering the youth of Ogun State in agriculture after completing the #EYiAtraining at @sFarmLab Awowo, Ewekoro LGA.”
Through such forward-thinking programs, the Ogun State government continues to demonstrate its dedication to innovative solutions that not only empower its youths but also enhance overall food production and security in the state.
