In the spirit of unity and celebration, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State extended warm greetings to the Muslim community in commemoration of Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Governor Abiodun, through his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, highlighted that this occasion serves as a reminder of the values of love, compassion, and tolerance vital for harmonious living in a diverse nation like Nigeria.
He expressed hope that the celebration would inspire all citizens to adopt principles of peace and understanding, fostering respect among various religious groups in Ogun State.
He emphasized that Ogun’s strength lies in its diversity and urged everyone to promote peaceful coexistence beyond religious differences.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, let us reflect on the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) teachings, which stress kindness, charity, and respect for one another.
“It is crucial we continue to build bridges of understanding among our different faiths, ensuring Ogun remains a beacon of peace and unity,” Governor Abiodun stated.
Governor Abiodun also encouraged religious leaders to promote peaceful dialogue and understanding within their communities.
He urged Muslim faithful to keep praying for the success of his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting efforts being made to create a better Nigeria for all.
