Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has praised the late Mr. Charles Coffie Gyamfi, former Guardian correspondent in the state, as a dedicated professional who made a lasting contribution to society.

Mr. Gyamfi passed away in Abeokuta on September 13.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun expressed that Gyamfi’s death is a significant loss to journalism.

He sympathized with the deceased’s family and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun chapter, urging them to find comfort in his enduring legacy as a professional whose influence will resonate in the community.

“His dedication to journalism was both remarkable and impactful, and his absence will be deeply felt within the industry.

“He was a journalist who devoted his life to covering essential issues and events, always standing for truth and integrity in his reporting.

“His steadfast pursuit of journalistic excellence and his commitment to truth made him stand out. He showed exceptional professionalism and a unique ability to engage with his audience.

“He covered a wide array of topics as a Guardian correspondent in the state, exploring every corner of our dear state with responsibility and a deep appreciation for the written word’s power.

“My sincere condolences go to his family and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), with whom he was closely associated.”
