In a bid to enhance the efficiency and standards of Ogun State’s Civil/Public Service, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has approved the appointment of two new Permanent Secretaries.

This announcement was detailed in a statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.

According to Onasanya, the appointments were made in line with Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and were based on merit, professionalism, inclusiveness, and seniority within the Civil/Public Service. The appointees emerged from the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme for Directors, which qualifies candidates for Permanent Secretary positions.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:

Dr. Ogunsanya Wellington Olaitan, Consultant (Surgery), GL. 17. Dr. Ogunsanya joined the Ogun State Civil Service on June 2, 1992, and previously served as Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics (DPRS) at the Ogun State Hospitals Management Board. He earned his MBBS from the University of Ibadan in 1989.

Mr. Abdul Suraj Olubamiro, Physiotherapist, GL. 17. Mr. Abdul joined the Service on May 20, 1991, and was the State Director of Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation (DPMR). He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Lagos (1990) and a Postgraduate Degree in Planning, Research, and Statistics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (2011).

Governor Abiodun has urged the new appointees to display commitment, diligence, and selflessness in their roles. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to achieve the goals of the ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda under his administration’s visionary leadership.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new appointees will be conducted by Governor Abiodun at a later date.
