Enugu – Governors from across Nigeria’s political landscape gathered today in Enugu for a crucial meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum.
Hosted by Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah, the forum, scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, has drawn considerable attention amid ongoing political developments.
Led by Chairman Senator Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, the assembly includes notable figures such as Governors Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), and several others representing a spectrum of PDP-led states.
The anticipated arrivals of Governors Ademola Adeleke (Osun) and Douye Diri (Bayelsa) are awaited as the discussions unfold.
Although the specific agenda remains undisclosed, discussions are expected to encompass pivotal topics such as upcoming party congresses, preparations for gubernatorial elections in Edo and Ondo states, internal party dynamics, and broader national issues.
Established in 2013 during the tenure of former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the PDP Governors’ Forum has served as a critical platform for fostering unity and strategic collaboration among member governors. It aims to harmonize policies, exchange insights, and bolster the party’s agenda across Nigeria.
Preceding the formal proceedings, Governor Mbah orchestrated a vibrant cultural night on Tuesday, celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of Nigeria, in honor of the visiting governors.
