Hon Ibraheem Labaeka Resigns as Kwara Governor’s SA, Cites Frustration Over Inactivity

Hon. Ibraheem Abdulhameed Labaeka, a respected Islamic cleric, has resigned from his position as Special Adviser (SA) to the Kwara State Governor, citing frustration over receiving a salary without being assigned any meaningful tasks.

Labaeka, who served in the role for one year and seven months, explained that his decision stemmed from discomfort with collecting pay while remaining idle. He expressed that his religious principles and personal integrity no longer allowed him to stay in the position, which he described as lacking any productive engagement.

In his resignation letter, Labaeka noted that despite being appointed to the position, he had not been given responsibilities that aligned with the role, leaving him disillusioned.

His resignation has sparked public discussion on X (Former twitter) about the utilization of political appointees in the state, with many questioning the effectiveness of such appointments. The Kwara State Government has yet to issue an official response to Labaeka’s departure or address the concerns he raised.
