Renowned musician, Ebenezer Obey, has shared the remarkable story of his survival following prostate surgery at the age of 82, describing it as a miraculous intervention.
Speaking to Saturday Beats, Obey expressed his gratitude for overcoming the ordeal, attributing his recovery to the prayers and support of his loved ones and well-wishers during his treatment at Kelina Hospital in Lagos.
Reflecting on his experience, he revealed, “It is by the grace of God that I survived prostate surgery at the age of 82. I thank God for bringing me out of a prostate enlargement surgery operation at Kelina Hospital, Lagos. I thank my friends, followers, fans and people of God for their prayers.”
Obey shared that he believes God spared his life because he still has unfinished tasks to accomplish on Earth, promising to share the full details of his testimony at his upcoming 82nd birthday celebration on April 3.
Despite initial apprehensions, the music icon commended Nigerian medical professionals and the power of prayer for aiding his recovery. He also disclosed plans to release a song addressing prostate enlargement, aiming to raise awareness about the condition.
Grateful for surviving both prostate surgery and a major leg operation two years earlier, Obey acknowledged the importance of music in his life, admitting uncertainty about his survival without his passion for singing.
Looking ahead, Obey outlined his birthday plans, which include charitable initiatives across nine locations, culminating in a thanksgiving service on April 3, 2024, at the Decross Gospel Mission in Lagos.
