President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned recent assaults on residents in Dutsin-Ma and Kankara Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
The State Police Command confirmed on Monday the killing of approximately 20 people, including four police officers and two members of the state’s Community Watch Corps, by suspected bandits.
The command’s public relations officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, reported that the attacks took place on Sunday in Gidan Tofa and Dan Nakwabo villages within Kankara Local Government Area.
Reacting to the incident, Tinubu, in a statement on Tuesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, condemned the recent assaults as horrific and malevolent.
The President vowed that his administration would enhance efforts to protect citizens and eradicate terrorists and other agents of chaos in any region of the country.
The statement continued: “President Tinubu directs security agencies to pursue the attackers and ensure they face justice.
“The President expresses his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Government and people of Katsina State, and prays for the souls of the departed.”
