The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has issued a pressing call for the prompt arrest and prosecution of Sunday Igboho, a prominent figure in the South West.
This call comes in response to Igboho’s recent inflammatory statements, wherein he demanded the expulsion of Fulani cattle breeders from Yoruba land and advocated for the establishment of the Oduduwa nation.
MACBAN, through its national president Baba Othman Ngelzarma, released a press statement condemning Igboho’s remarks as unlawful and equating them to treason.
The association implored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and relevant security agencies to take decisive action, citing the precedent set by the arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu for similar offenses.
Ngelzarma emphasized the gravity of Igboho’s statements, asserting, “His statements are unlawful. If Nnamdi Kanu will be held behind bars for a similar offence, we see no reason why Sunday Igboho will be allowed to go scot-free.” As tensions escalate, stay tuned for further developments on this evolving situation.
