The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a 41-year-old Canadian woman, Adrienne Munju, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the NDLEA, Munju was arrested for importing a significant quantity of ‘Canadian Loud,’ a high-grade strain of cannabis. The arrest took place during a routine search operation at the airport, leading to the discovery of the illegal consignment in her possession.
The agency has reiterated its commitment to curbing drug trafficking in Nigeria, noting that the importation of illicit substances continues to pose a serious threat to the country’s safety and security. The case is currently under investigation, with Munju expected to face legal proceedings in due course.
