The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) plans to inaugurate 20 newly appointed Electoral Officers on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 12:00 noon. This step is part of the preparations for the Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
According to the Chairman of the Commission, Babatunde A. Osibodu, Esq., the inauguration will take place at the Commission’s Headquarters Conference Room in Abeokuta. The Commissioner for Media & Civic Education, Mr. Ayodele Bankole, highlighted the vital role these Electoral Officers will play in ensuring a free, fair, and transparent election.

Training for Election Staff
OGSIEC also announced training for additional AdHoc staff starting on Saturday, October 26, 2024. The training will focus on election management best practices, voter education, and conflict resolution to ensure readiness for any potential challenges on election day.
The Commission urges all stakeholders, including the Electoral Officers, to adhere strictly to the guidelines and collaborate to ensure a credible election.
