Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Hon. Rinsola Abiola, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to Governor Dapo Abiodun, his cabinet, and the people of Ogun State as the state marks its 49th anniversary.
In a statement celebrating the occasion, Abiola acknowledged the resilience and achievements of Ogun State, emphasizing its role as a symbol of excellence, industry, political leadership, and religious harmony in Nigeria.
She praised the people of the state for their strength, courage, and leadership, urging the youth and all citizens to emulate the virtues of Ogun’s past heroes.
“The people of Ogun State are renowned for their strength, courage, and leadership. As we continue to serve as the gateway to Nigeria’s excellence, industry, and religious harmony, I urge the youth and all citizens to emulate the exemplary qualities of our heroes: integrity, diligence, and a commitment to the common good,” she stated.
Abiola, who is the daughter of late President MKO Abiola, the winner of the 1993 presidential elections, further encouraged collective efforts in building a prosperous future for both the state and the nation, adding, “May the labor of our heroes past never be in vain. God bless Ogun State, and God bless Nigeria.”
Ogun State was created on February 3, 1976, and has since grown to become a key economic and political hub in Nigeria. The state has produced numerous notable figures who have significantly contributed to its development and the nation’s cultural and political landscape.
