The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, will retire on Monday, December 9, 2024, after a 35-year career in the Nigeria Police Force.

A pull-out parade to mark his retirement will take place at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.

This is according to a Saturday statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, shared on X.

“The event will be followed by a reception for guests at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta,” it read.

Reflecting on his time in service, Alamutu thanked colleagues and stakeholders for their support, seeking similar cooperation for his successor.

He remarked, “I deeply appreciate the unwavering support and commitment shown by my colleagues, community leaders, and citizens throughout my administration.

“As I bow out, I encourage everyone to continue fostering collaboration with the incoming leadership to further strengthen the security framework of our state.”
