The Ogun State Government, in collaboration with the Society for Family Health and supported by Global Fund Malaria, has initiated a large-scale campaign to distribute 3.1 million insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) across the state, starting November 18.
The campaign aims to mobilize households statewide, with Ijebu North Local Government’s Coordinator, Mr. Oladeji Julius, reporting 59% household mobilization so far. Julius urged residents to store their net cards safely, to air out nets before use, and to follow washing guidelines.
Ijebu North East’s Coordinator, Rapheal Izi, stated that 60.2% of targeted households have received net cards, and efforts in Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside local governments have mobilized 65% and 60% of households, respectively.
