President Bola Tinubu has responded to the death of his Iranian counterpart, Ebrahim Raisi, who passed away in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
It was reported that a helicopter transporting President Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian experienced a hard landing while visiting a northern region.
The local media confirmed the deaths of both officials.
In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu extended his sympathies to the government and people of Iran.
President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event, describing President Raisi as a leader deeply committed to Iran’s development.
While consoling the grieving families, President Tinubu prayed for the ongoing peace, stability, and prosperity of Iran.
