Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that the crescent of Shawwal hasn’t been sighted, signaling that fasting will extend into Tuesday. The Eid-El-Fitr celebration is slated for Wednesday, April 10, marking the onset of the new Islamic month.
This information was shared via Haramin’s official Facebook page, a trusted platform for the global Muslim community. “The crescent moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024,” the announcement read.
Nigerian Muslims await the declaration from the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar, for further guidance.
