Renowned lawyer and human rights activist, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, has strongly criticized the current administration led by President Tinubu, stating that it has exacerbated poverty levels in Nigeria. During a live program on Channels TV, Ozekhome emphasized the urgent need for Tinubu and his team to address the economic challenges gripping the nation, especially as they promised to renew hope during the 2023 election campaigns.

Ozekhome highlighted the lack of justification for blaming past administrations for present woes, urging the government to adopt innovative solutions instead. He expressed concern over the country’s economic trajectory, warning that without swift action, the exchange rate could plummet to N4000 to the dollar, echoing the economic struggles experienced in Ghana.

Drawing attention to the management of the economy, Ozekhome criticized the reliance on Bureau De Change operators and underscored the need for a more strategic approach to economic governance.
